Better help/context for RSS feeds

RSS links are currently unfriendly/confusing for users who are unfamiliar with RSS (clicking on them just downloads a file called "latest tool").

The BBC has a good approach:  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/help/3223484.stm Click on one of the feed icons on the right - you get an (XSL stylesheet) explanation of what the feed is and how to subscribe to it.

As interim solution, when the user clicks the feed icon the (XML) feed should open in the browser so that the user can copy and paste the URL of the feed into their reader.
