blank pages when navigating EPrints

Bournemouth and Huddersfield users/staff both reported:
"Since the recent upgrade we have been experiencing refresh issues with BURO i.e. selecting pages and fuctions now often results in a 'blank page' that needs a manual refresh."
"We also seem to be getting a lot of blank screens while depositing, e.g. clicking on next then getting a blank screen – refresh then loads the screen."
I've seen a similar problem on EdShare? (running 3.1.3) when we backported the "upload progress bar".
Will investigate, so far I haven't seen anything obvious in the logs.
