Hide/disable Upload button when "automatically" uploading selected file

Description

When a file is selected, it automatically starts uploading.

University of Reading reports that many end-users are not noticing/realising that the file is already uploading and hitting the Upload button - often ending up with 2 copies of the same file uploaded.

Can we hide/disable the Upload button when a file has been selected and uploading starts?

If the user accidentally chooses the wrong file and it starts uploading, is there a way to cancel the in progress upload (assuming it's a large file)?
