About this Site

This site is the ticket system for the EPrints software and related tools. Tickets may track bugs, feature requests or other 'todo' things. When tickets are completed they are closed.

Tickets are assigned to milestones. As milestones near completion they will be released as beta, release candidate and then the actual release version. Some tickets and milestones may be uncertain 'future work' that may never be implemented (i.e. we can't promise to fix any of the tickets here - the system is just to help manage EPrints development!).

Tickets can only be created by EPrints developers at the moment - we want to keep the first point of contact as the mailing lists (see below).

Reporting Bugs

Please post a message to the eprints technical list stating the issue or feature request. This will ensure the most number of people have a chance to see and contribute to resolving the issue. The mailing list is also a good place to refine an issue before a ticket is created.

Making Patches and Contributing Comments

If you have a patch for a ticket please upload it to  http://files.eprints.org/ and notify the eprints technical list. If you just have an idea for a ticket please share it on the list.

Accessing Nightly Builds

NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, SORRY!

This site builds a nightly EPrints installation tarball based on the latest development branch and trunk:

 http://trac.eprints.org/nightly/

This is provided only for development/experimental purposes - do not use it on a production service.

SVN Checking Out

Before checking out you will need to register with the EPrints LDAP (see above). To check out the EPrints SVN you should use the url:

 https://svn.eprints.org/eprints/

Note that this is the svn root and is incredibly large. You probably want to check out further down the tree.

For example to check out trunk use:  https://svn.eprints.org/eprints/trunk/system

To work out what you want to check out you should probably browse the source -  http://trac.eprints.org/eprints/browser
